Sukhothai became strongest under King Ramkhamhaeng the Great. He expanded the kingdom by leading armies, forming alliances, and protecting trade routes. He is also famous for helping create the Thai writing system, which helped people keep records and share ideas.
Ramkhamhaeng supported Buddhism, protected farmers, and encouraged trade. Stories say he ruled kindly and allowed people to ring a bell at the palace if they needed help. Under him, Sukhothai became peaceful, rich, and respected.
